Al-Dabbagh: UN Casualty Reports Inaccurate

Al-Ittihad is published daily by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said sources of information the United Nations used regarding civilian casualties in Iraq were inaccurate. He said UN human rights staff in Baghdad did not do their best to double check information before announcing it. He maintained that the Iraqi government was unable to issue accurate figures for civilian victims. The UN recently reported that 34,000 Iraqi civilians died last year.
