US ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad said negotiations with Iran about Iraq will take place after the new Iraqi government is formed to avoid accusations of US interference. Only Iraqis will decide their internal issues, he added. The US administration allowed (Khalilzad) to hold negotiations with Iran only about Iraq and not about its concerns (over Iran's use of) nuclear weapons. Despite calls by the United States and the United Kingdom to speed up forming the government, negotiations between the political blocs have been suspended until the (United Iraqi Alliance) decides on its nominee for the premiership.
