Anbar Leaders Agree to End Violence

London-based Azzaman is issued daily by Saad al-Bazaz.

The deputy prime minister responsible for security matters, Salam al-Zubai, has said the multilateral forces and Iraqi government have reached agreement with tribal leaders and notables in the west of the country on halting the violence that in Anbar province. They also urged citizens to join the security forces and army units. Visiting Falluja, Zubai said everyone was willing to stop the acts of violence committed by armed groups from outside Iraq that distorted the image of the "honorable resistance".
