Afghan security forces discovered and seized a consignment of weapons in the Sarobi district of Kabul province, officials said on February 1. District police chief Shirshah Yousufzai said the arms included 100 mortar rounds, 25 artillery shells, three Kalashnikov assault rifles and other items. According to the police chief, the men who had been holding the arms cache escaped before the police arrived. Sarobi district is situated 75 kilometres east of Kabul city.
