Austria Joins Queue for Oil and Gas Deals

Visiting Ashgabat on September 19, Austrian economy minister Martin Bartenstein invited Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov come to Austria for further talks on developing oil and gas fields on the Caspian shelf.



The Austrians have already put 300 million US dollars into a Turkmen-Austrian consortium that has been developing large oil fields in the east of Turkmenistan since 2000.
