Babylon Governor Probes Chlorine Incident

Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institution for Media and Cultural Investments.

Babylon governor Salim Salih Mahdi announced that he would investigate the poisoning of 100 civilians in Hilla who inhaled chlorine gas from a water purification station. In a press conference, he said that he directed the province's justice office to file a claim against those who caused the incident and punish those who failed in their duties. The governor has met with municipal office managers to create plans for improving deteriorating services like electricity, water and fuel in the province.
