Al-Bayan is issued four times a week by the Islamic Dawa Party.
A large conference of civil society groups has been held in Basra to promote Prime Minister Maliki's national reconciliation plan. The participants - which included many high-ranking officials, clerics, poets and political leaders - underlined the importance of making the plan a success. Civil society groups have been very active in Basra educating the public about the plan and its role in spreading peace and security around the countryside.
