Bishkek Disabled Encouraged to Take Buses

Aidai Tokonova reports on a campaign to make it easier for disabled people to use public transport, largely by showing other passengers how they can help.

The campaign coincided with the arrival in Bishkek of 25 new trolleybuses with disabled-access features.

Sadly, the vehicles, made in Belarus, came fitted with wheelchair ramps – but these seem to have been removed after their arrival in Kyrgyzstan, though no one seems to know why this happened.
