(Call For) Danish Troops to Withdraw

The Basra provincial council issued a declaration on February 14 calling for Danish troops in Basra to withdraw if their government does not apologise for the cartoons that abused Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him.) The declaration affirmed that opposition to British forces would continue because the British have not released Iraqi detainees. It also condemned the British for the brutal act published in the global media that showed British soldiers violently beating young Iraqis. The declaration ordered Basra residents to cut associations with British and Danish forces until further notice.
