Confrontation of Violence

Vice-president Adil Abdul Mahdi said that although the government is refusing to set a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign forces, it is not opposed to setting a plan for the withdrawal. There is a big difference between setting a schedule that might lead to a security vacuum and establishing a plan that might help hasten the withdrawal with strong security forces. He maintained that the government is heading toward building strong governmental institutions to help achieve stability and security in Iraq. He added that the government will strongly confront acts of violence and terrorism.
