Diala Representatives Criticise Al-Jazeera

Tribal leaders, prominent figures, clerics, and civil society associations in Diala criticised the al-Jazeera satellite channel and other media outlets for provoking sectarian conflict among Iraqis. They claimed that airing a story about Sabrin al-Janabi, who alleges that she was sexually abused by the Iraqi security forces, was aimed at undermining the new security plan. They said the channel should be censured for its deliberate interference in Iraqi internal affairs and its poor depiction of Iraqi national figures who are trying to solve the problems through their calls for national reconciliation.
