The feature covered 49-year-old Laly from the eastern Kurdistan town of Penjwen, who lost both her feet in a land-mine explosion when she was a youngster. She is working as a tailor but faces many problems in trying to make ends meet. Laly is active in a union for disabled people and wants the government to provide more help for them so they can earn their own living.
