Helmand shootings continue

Unidentified armed men shot and killed a man in the Sapi village of the southern province of Helmand on February 24, a local official said. Provincial security chief Assadullah Shirzad said that the slain man, Mohibullah, was head of a local mechanics’ association. He had no dispute with anyone, said the officer, adding that an investigation had been launched to identify and arrest the perpetrators. The incident came a day after unknown armed men gunned down the administrative director of the province’s Nava district while he was on his way to his office.
