Dozens of protesting disabled people disrupted a conference held in Kabul on December 3 to mark International Disabled Day, and prevented the Minister for Martyrs and the Disabled, Sediqqa Balkhi, from finishing her speech. The celebration, attended by senior government officials, was being held in the Loya Jirga tent in Kabul. The minister was speaking when a group of disabled and female supporters entered the hall, chanting slogans against Balkhi and demanding her resignation.
