Jordanian sources said Iraqi authorities are still prohibiting Arabs from entering Iraq through its different border points, including the airport. Royal Jordanian staff at the Queen Alia airport (in Amman) prevented Arabs from boarding flights to Baghdad. The decision affects even those holding residency permits and valid visas. There is no clarification about the reason for the decision or how long it will be in effect. The decision was made (about two weeks before) the December 15 parliamentary elections.
