(Ja'afari Encourages Journalists to) Write Freely

Prime minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari emphasized the media's role in helping the people understand reality in a meeting with the editorial board of al-Sabah. He maintained that all Iraqis should work for the interests of the youth and future generations. Ja'afari said the media's work should be independent of political parties and political organizations. He told the journalists to write about the hopes of average people and that he will help the people. Ja'afari asked the media to confront any sign of tribalism and partiality. He said their work should reflect the suffering of the Iraqis and make politicians aware of their struggles.
