Kazakstan’s prime minister Karim Masimov will be looking for investment opportunities in Kyrgyzstan when he attends a business-forum in Bishkek on July 11.

Kazakstan expressed an interest in investing in Kyrgyz hydroelectric energy, tourism and banking at the last major business-forum in Almaty in September 2006, but political instability and bureaucracy in Kyrgyzstan were a turn-off.

Last year, Kazakhstan invested 28 million US dollars in Kyrgyzstan’s economy.
