Kidnapped Minister Released

Al-Taakhi is issued daily by the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Deputy electricity minister Raad al-Haris has been released after being kidnapped by an armed group. A security source had announced earlier on July 4 that al-Haris and 19 of his bodyguards were abducted in al-Talibiya neighbourhood to the east of Baghdad. The source said that the kidnap was carried out by armed men wearing the uniform of the Iraqi security forces and driving in seven cars.
