Prime minister Nuri al-Maliki has urged the Arab states to cooperate with his government to stabilize the security situation in Iraq. He said that terrorism impacts Arab countries that should work with Iraq to eliminate the phenomenon. Maliki maintained that supporting and aiding terrorism would be regarded (by the Iraqi government) as partaking in killing the Iraqi people and in halting national objectives. Maliki also said he would soon go to Basra to solve the deteriorating security there.
