Two local commanders in the northern province of Sar-e-Pul voluntarily handed over a quantity of weapons and ammunition to the provincial disarmament commission on November 20. According to the press office of the interior ministry, the weapons and munitions surrendered to the disarmament team in the Kohistanat district included 35 Kalashnikov assault rifles, three machine-guns, seven rocket-launchers, and some other weapons of different types. The provincial police chief, Mohammad Nadir Naimi, welcomed the action taken by the commanders.
