New Front for Baath Party

London-based Azzaman is issued daily by Saad al-Bazaz.

Interior Minister Jawad al-Boolani warned high-ranking officials not to join the AWDA (Return) party, claiming it's a front for the former Ba'athist party. Informed sources told Azzaman that the execution of Saddam has helped increase the number of people joining the new party in Tikrit, Anbar, Diala, and Mosul areas as well as in the southern provinces and Baghdad. Party activists are said to focus on resisting the occupation and the Iraqi government, which they accused of being Iranian agents.
