New Timetable for Reconciliation Conference
Al-Adala is issued daily by the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.
The Arab League announced that talks are underway to set a new date for the national reconciliation conference. Many Iraqi groups had asked for it to be postponed until the new government was formed. Arab League representative Mustafa Osman Ismail may visit Iraq to talk with the Iraqi political parties about the issue. Arab League spokesman Hisham Youssef said the league had not received requests to cancel the conference from any Iraqi groups and that no Arab states were prepared to host it. Unified Iraqi Alliance list member Jawad Qindil said the conference will be held in Iraq in June. (The conference, which is supported by the Arab League, was originally scheduled to be held February 2 in Baghdad.)
