None of the four on-going trials (Celebici, Blaskic, Aleksovski, and Furundzija) were held last week, due to court maintenance in all three courtrooms.
The beginning of a new trial is scheduled for 17 August. This will take place before Trial Chamber II and will be the case of "Kupreskic and others." Six Bosnian Croats stand accused of direct involvement in the crime which took place in the village of Ahmici in Central Bosnia (Lasva Valley) on 16 April 1993.
With the exception of Vlatko Kupreskic, who was arrested and lightly wounded in an SFOR operation last year, the other accused surrendered voluntarily. All six plead not guilty to 19 counts of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws or customs of war.
