Oil Refinerie Boost

Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institution for Media and Cultural Investments.

The finance ministry has allocated three billion US dollars to develop existing refineries and establish three new ones to meet the increasing demand for oil products, which has reached more than 20 million litres a day. A source at the ministry said that a number of specialist international companies would be invited to carry out the work. The source added that following Kuwait's decision to stop supplying Iraq with kerosene, three million dollars a month has been allocated to buy it from other neighbouring states.
