Opinion: Sufferings and Achievements

Despite the sufferings of the Iraqi people, they can express their opinions about various aspects of daily life. In the past, Iraqis were forced to agree with the government without being able to protest or to express their opinions on political or economic issues. Iraqis now can organize peaceful demonstrations against the government's acts and can criticize the government. Iraqis can (push) the political blocs' leaders to speed up forming the government and to eliminate their disagreements because it hurts the political process. To respond to public opinion is a step toward building democracy. The political process is the most important issue Iraqis face now, and (they address it) without being chased or arrested. Even the political slates follow the same transparency in discussing their disagreements about different issues. This proves that the time of (setting) policy and ignoring other (voices) has ended.
