Hachim al-Hasani, the outgoing chief of the national assembly, has addressed the Iraqi nation to tell them there is a great conspiracy against them and urging them to unite. Hasani condemned the explosions in Sadr City, adding that Iraq's enemies are working hard to deprive people of their rights to decent lives and to halt efforts to form a government of national unity. He said the attacks were escalating to coincide with the first session of the new parliament, the aim being to weaken Iraqi’s resolve to build a glorious future.
