Peshmerga Not Part of Security Plan

Al-Mada is issued daily by Al-Mada Institution for Media, Culture and Arts.

President Jalal Talabani said that the Peshmerga would not take part in the new security plan for Iraq. In a press conference attended by the American ambassador Zalmai Khalilzad in Sulaimaniya, Talabani said the new plan would be carried out solely by the Iraqi army. Talabani maintained that national reconciliation was a top priority.
