The criminal court in Damascus has postponed sentencing political activist Fateh Jamoos until November 21, the Damascus-based news website Syria News reports.

Jamoos is a leader of the opposition Syrian Communist Party. He was arrested in Damascus airport last year following a trip to Europe during which he gave lectures about the situation in Syria. He was later charged with defaming the reputation of the state.

He was previously imprisoned between 1982 and 2000.
