Judge Raid Joohi, head of the supreme criminal tribunal's investigation board trying (former Iraqi leader) Saddam Hussein (and seven of his former deputies,) said the trial will be completed in two months. He affirmed that Judge Rizkar Mohammed Amin, who had overseen the trial, resigned, but his resignation was not legally approved yet. Rizkar can continue overseeing the tribunal's next session (on January 24.) Judge Saeed al-Hamashi will replace him as chief justice if Rizkar does not want to oversee the court proceedings, even though the de-Ba'athification board said he should not be assigned to the post (because he is involved with de-Ba'athification efforts.
