Sistani urges unity

National security counsellor Muwaffaq al-Rubai visited Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani on February 28 to inform him about the measures the government has taken to maintain control over security and protect holy shrines. Sistani said he had faith that the unity between all different groups in Iraq would avert sectarian conflict. He called for the process of forming a government of national unity to be accelerated and asked people to maintain self-control so that terrorists would find no platform for their hostile activities. He also urged tribal leaders to play a role in protecting the holy shrines.
