Suicide attack in Kandahar

A suicide bomber tore through a US military convoy in the southern province of Kandahar on Monday, killing himself and wounding two passers-by, officials said. An explosive-laden car is said to have been detonated near the US convoy by the attacker. It follows a series of suicide attacks and comes days after a top Taleban commander, Mullah Dadullah, said his forces would step up such attacks. More than 1,500 people lost their lives in different parts of the country over the past year.
