Swedish military to increase presence in Afghanistan

Cheragh is an independent daily run by the Development and Democracy Association.

The Swedish defence ministry has announced that it will more than double the number of soldiers it contributes to the International Security Assistance Force, ISAF. The Swedish contingent will increase from 90 to 200. Sweden’s Left Party has opposed the move. One Swedish soldier was killed and another seriously wounded in a roadside bomb attack last month in Mazar-e-Sharif.
