A teenager was killed and two other people sustained injuries in an explosion in the western province of Farah on February 22. Provincial governor Ezatullah Wasefi said the blast was an accident, caused when a hand-grenade went off in the hands of a 14-year-old boy, who died on the spot. Wasefi rejected the idea that the blast had anything to do with organised violence.
