Trade ministry tries to put a stop to imports of expired products

Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

The Iraqi trade ministry has called on all Iraqi embassies in neighboring states to try to prevent exports to Iraq of expired food products that are unfit for human consumption. The ministry said that some exporters sought to exploit the chaos and confusion at frontier crossings to bring in such goods. Trade inspection teams discovered that some local traders had collaborated in the racket.
