Employee of Russia’s Security Service Issued Suspicion
Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) investigators reported in absentia the suspicion of aiding deliberate actions to change the boundaries of the territory and border of Ukraine and inciting treason to Russian citizen Stanislav Horokhovikov. According to the investigation, the 39-year-old is an employee of Russia’s Security Service (FSB) in the Rostov region and actively worked to get Ukrainian citizens to cooperate with the Russian forces, specifically to collect and share information about military and critical infrastructure facilities.
Between January 24 to March 6, 2023, the suspect recruited Ukrainian citizens in Kyiv, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Dnipro to work as his informants. They communicated via the messaging app Telegram and Horokhovikov alleged passed information onto FSB officers and the Russian military which was then used to launch missile strikes.
Two Russian Soldiers Accused of Rape in Zaporizhzhia Region
Zaporizhzhia police investigators reported a suspicion in absentia Russian soldiers Oleksandr Gladkov and Artem Pronchenko for raping a woman in a village in the Tokmak district of the Zaporizhia region in the spring of 2022. The men, from the motorised rifle division from military unit No 75394, are accused of violating the laws and customs of war due to a prior conspiracy by a group of persons under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 438 of the criminal code.
The investigation says that in April 2022, Gladkov, 21, and Pronchenko, 37, carried out reconnaissance of the houses in the village to determine where potential victims lived. On the evening of May 1, the two came to the residence of a married couple with two small children where the woman was bound, beaten and taken outside the village where both men raped her.
Russian Captain Sentenced to Life imprisonment for Murder
On December 6, 2023, judges of the Kyiv-Svyatoshinskyi District Court of the Kyiv Region sentenced in absentia Russian captain Dmytro Dyogot to life imprisonment for murdering a 70-year-old civilian, in violation of the laws and rules of war as per Part 2 of Article 438 of the criminal code.
According to the investigation, the 33-year-old, head of intelligence of the 64th separate motorised rifle brigade of the Russian army, participated in the occupation of the Bucha district in the Kyiv region. On March 3, 2022, he reportedly stopped an unarmed 70-year-old man who was in a street of the village of Havronshchyna. The soldier hit him in the face with the butt of a machine gun, and when the civilian fell, shot him in the back. The verdict can be appealed within 30 days.
