Nearly 3,000 War-related Crimes Against Children Recorded
The office of the prosecutor general of Ukraine announced that it was providing guidance in proceedings regarding more than 2,900 war-related crimes against children. These alleged offences include murder, sexual violence, deportation, kidnapping and forced displacement.
Nearly 1,000 children have been killed during the course of the war and more than 9,500 forcibly deported.
Russian Suspected of Killing Four in Bucha Identified
National police investigators issued a suspicion in absentia against Nikita Chalov, a soldier of the 76th Guards Assault-Assault Chernihiv Division of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, in violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder based on a prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Article 438 of the criminal code).
The 24-year-old deputy commander of an amphibious assault vehicle allegedly shot two civilian cars in Bucha town, Kyiv region, on March 5, 2022. Four people were killed in the incident, including a mother and two children.
Russian Propagandist Suspected of Calling for Genocide
Ukrainian investigators reported in absentia the suspicion of public calls for genocide as well as the production of materials with calls for such actions (part 2 of Article 442 and Article 436 of the criminal code) to Russian propagandist Yegor Kholmogorov.
According to the investigation, on October 10, 2022, Kholmogorov published a call for the genocide of the Ukrainian nation on his Telegram channel, which has 41,000 subscribers.
Suspicion Issued Over Death of Civilians in Chernihiv Region
Police investigators in Chernihiv informed f two Russian soldiers in absentia of the suspicion of violations of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murders by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28 of Part 2 of Article 438 of the criminal code of Ukraine).
Tank platoon commander Kyril Boykov and tank commander Artem Razinkin allegedly shot at two civilian cars with automatic weapons in March 2022 in the village of Olshana, Pryluky district.
One car was carrying two men carrying food to the residents of the Ichnia community, and two locals travelling to the hospital in the town of Pryluky were in the other. All were killed on the spot.
Russian Security Official Who “Ordered Torture” Identified
Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Kharkiv region reported in absentia a suspicion to Pavel Kashirskiy, the senior operational officer of the department of Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation for the Baltic Fleet and the troops of the Kaliningrad region. He is accused of the violation of the laws and customs of war by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 CC of Ukraine)
According to the investigation, while in the territory of occupied Balaklia, the suspect organised illegal detentions of civilians in a torture chamber in the building of the captured police department.
He is believed to have personally interrogated detainees to get information from the victims on the armed forces of Ukraine and about pro-Ukrainian citizens.
