US Committed Mistakes in Iraq

Iraqi Umma (secular) party leader and national assembly member Mithal al-Aloosi said the biggest mistake the US committed in Iraq is that it ignored aid from regional parties (such as Iran) to Iraq's religious parties. He added that the US did not support the progressive parties while religious parties received millions of dollars from abroad which created an unbalanced political situation among the Iraqi parties. He maintained that building organisations and protecting civil society organisations is the only way to make up for that mistake. It is important to give Iraqi youth a chance in building the country, he added.
