IWPR Launches CABAR.asia Media School
Website brings together educational resources with up-to-date video trainings.
IWPR has launched an online media resource for journalists and analysts to access on-going training through video lessons and expert webinars.
The course is a product of the CABAR.asia School of Analytics, which is training a new generation of young analysts and journalists from Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
IWPR has been working with journalists, civil society activists and experts across Central Asia for the last 18 years. All resources, including textbooks, guidelines, and training materials, will now be available on the website of the CABAR.asia media school.
The online resource also means that training will be available for those unable to travel to IWPR workshops themselves.
Experienced analysts, journalists and academics from both Central Asia and beyond share their expertise in these video lessons, which will be continuously updated and modified.
Language barriers or lack of knowledge of Russian should not be an obstacle to professional development, so the platform will also have video lessons and training materials in the Kazak, Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek languages.
IWPR’s traditional trainings will continue, although prospective participants can now check the future schedule and apply for them via the same website.
This publication was prepared under the "Giving Voice, Driving Change - from the Borderland to the Steppes Project" implemented with the financial support of the Foreign Ministry of Norway.
