Africa Media Matters
Years active: 2010-2011
Africa Media Matters brings together critical news and information from across the African continent; providing a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities facing Africa's media. Monthly programmes will feature the latest media news, in-depth analysis of emerging stories from media and civil society leaders, and profile the work of African entrepreneurs who are breaking new ground.
Produced from our Crisis Reporting Centre and from locations across the continent, Africa Media Matters will include lively discussion, field reports and feature interviews that raise awareness of critical media situations and catalyse debate on African media developments. Our series will cover issues such as media law and regulation that effects press freedom; the security of journalists operating in conflict zones; the use of new media tools such as mobile phone technology; and the influence of the media on government policy.
