Defence minister General Abdul Rahim Wardak has said the Taleban are getting military and financial support from outside the country. In an interview, the minister said the Taleban have acquired millions of dollars as well as weapons to conduct subversive activities in Afghanistan. He added that Arabs and nationals of other countries, including neighbouring states, were carrying out Iraq-style suicide attacks in Afghanistan. An official who did not want to be named said 22 suicide attackers were known to have infiltrated the country.
