Drivers Protest Fuel Tariffs

Syria Media Report, 16-May-08

Professional drivers in Aleppo stopped work to protest higher fuel tariffs in the province, Syria News reported on May 11.

The ministry of economy raised tariffs between 56 per cent and 77 per cent within cities and between provinces. Waheed Akkad, an official at the executive office in the province, said the tariffs were justified.
