Norwegian Court Upholds Krekar Expulsion

Kurdistani Nwe is a political daily issued by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

The Norwegian Court of Appeal yesterday supported the decision of an Oslo court in 2005 to expel Mullah Krekar, the founder of Ansar al-Islam extremist group. The Court of Appeal said that Krekar jeopardised the national security of Norway. A spokesman for the court said that he could appeal the decision within one month at the Norwegian Supreme Court. The Anar al-Islam group operated in the Halabja area of Iraqi Kurdistan and were badly hit by the US-led Coalition's invasion of Iraq.
