An Iraqi police source announced that one person was killed and 40 others wounded in car bomb attacks on Sunday afternoon that targeted churches in various parts of Iraq. An interior ministry source said that four car bombs exploded near churches in Baghdad's Karrada neighbourhood. Meanwhile, the chief of Kirkuk's police force, brigadier Burhan Habeeb, said two civilians were wounded in a car bomb near the Orthodox church in the city centre. Minutes later, a civilian was killed and two others wounded in another car bomb near the Virgin Mary church north of Kirkuk.
