A source at the ministry of electricity has said an explosion on the high-tension distribution network has caused a number of power lines to stop working. As a result, there has been an increase in the hours of power cuts in Baghdad and central Iraq. Technicians are now working to repair the damage. Citizens in Baghdad expressed resentment at the continuous outages, which now last more than ten hours a day.
