A ban on keeping livestock within the Tajik capital has angered owners who say the animals are important to keeping their households afloat.
Many people living in the low-rise outskirts of the city have a cow or two, or a few sheep.
Owners are unhappy at the loss of the food and income these animals represent, and say they cannot afford to replace this by purchasing dairy and other food products at current prices.
