Major UN Forum Starts in Almaty on May 15

The 63rd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, ESCAP, will take place in Almaty on May 15-23.



Under a new programme approved at the organisation’s 58th session in 2002, ESCAP is to focus on alleviating poverty, regulating the globalisation process and solving social problems.



Kazakstan participates in ESCAP programmes on environmental issues and natural resource management, as well as investment cooperation and trade development.
