Kurdish president Masood Barzani has denied that the Kurdistan Alliance has any deep disagreement with the United Iraqi Alliance, UIA, about the formation of an Iraqi government. In a declaration issued by his office in Erbil, Barzani said the historic relationship between the Kurdistan Alliance and the UIA is a deep and strategic one. Kurds never take one side at the expense of others, but they do unite with those who meet their expectations on the basis of common interest, he said. Barzani expressed hope that the Kurdistan Alliance, the UIA, and other blocs would reach acceptable solutions through dialogue and reconciliation.
