The United Iraqi Alliance and the Kurdistan Alliance lists will continue dominating the political scene in Iraq based on partial results announced by the electoral commission. The results indicate that the United Iraqi Alliance will get (59 per cent) of the votes in Baghdad and 80 per cent in the southern provinces, while the Kurdistan Alliance is expected to capture 90 per cent of votes in the Kurdish provinces. In Baghdad, the Iraqi Accord Front appeared to be coming in second to the United Iraqi Alliance, while the Iraqi National list was third. The figures did not include results from western provinces or Kirkuk.
