Joint Council for National Work
Baghdad is a daily newspaper issued by the Iraqi National Accord, led by former prime minister Ayad Allawi.
The Iraqi National List, headed by former prime minister Ayad Allawi, and the Iraqi Accord Front have agreed to form the "joint council for national work" which will negotiate with other political slates regarding the formation of a national unity government. The council is not opposed to any political bloc and aims at unifying parties' agendas. It will keep the door open to include other political slates if they would like to join the council. (Allawi's secular list and the Sunni Arab Iraqi Accord Front joined forces to oppose the election results that they argued favoured the Shia United Iraqi Alliance, the most powerful slate in parliament.)
