American-Iranian Talks to Begin Soon

Al-Ittihad is issued daily by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Political and parliamentary Iraqi sources announced in Beirut that after two days of intensive negotiations, Iranian-American discussions about Iraq will begin soon. The discussions were chaired by Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq leader Abdul Aziz al-Hakim and the US ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad. Other (unnamed) political representatives also attended. They agreed to speed up the dialogue about Iraq in Baghdad.
